Coach Paulo Sousa is trying out new formations to fit in Giuseppe Rossi as Fiorentina have reportedly chosen to keep him.
The Italo-American left last year on loan to Levante, as he was struggling to find his best condition of form after a long string of injuries, and has finally returned to Italy.
While Rossi's relationship with Sousa was believed to be lukewarm, the Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the tactician is now trying out new tactical schemes that will allow the striker to play as a starter.

While Rossi's relationship with Sousa was believed to be lukewarm, the Gazzetta dello Sport reports that the tactician is now trying out new tactical schemes that will allow the striker to play as a starter.
The Viola are being fielded in training in a 4-3-1-2, with Rossi as one of the two strikers alongside Mauro Zarate. Josip Ilicic is deployed behind them as the trequartista, though that role can be covered by Federico Bernardeschi too. Nikola Kalinic will eventually replace Zarate.
The trials highlight Fiorentina's decision to keep the player now that he has recovered his physical form and is ready to confront Serie A.
“Rossi will stay,” said Pantaleo Corvino, as reported by the Gazzetta. “He has the faith of the club and the Coach.”
Even so, the Gigliati are expected not to renew Rossi's contract yet, which is due to expire in 2017.
