Paulo Sousa was again evasive when discussing his Fiorentina future after a 3-1 win over Sassuolo.
“I think the mental component is tied to the tactical and it makes a big difference,” the Coach told Sky Sport Italia after a run of four draws from six rounds.
“We created a great deal to win against a physically strong side. We played very close to what is our best. The lads deserve this success.

“We have already improved in certain aspects, such as the work-rate, and I brought out the statistics to dispute this ignorant suggestion we had a drop in fitness levels.
“It was a psychological issue and that in part was my fault, as I wasn’t able to create the alternatives to trouble the opposition.”
Sousa has been linked with the Zenit job, so what did he have to say about his future?
“There is no future without the present,” was his response. “The present has given us reason to think a great deal about the future.
“Will I ask the club for guarantees on the transfer market to stay? We always talk. I am a person who likes to talk to those who I work with on a daily basis and think of what is best for the team, the club and for me.”
