The decision to fire Mihajlovic and replace him with Primavera youth team Coach Cristian Brocchi has infuriated most fans, who see it as a continuation of the confusion at the club.
“The fourth Coach to pay for something that was not his fault,” wrote the Curva Sud group in a statement.
“It all started with the dismissal of Max Allegri (whose abilities are seen in the results of his new team), continued with the Clarence Seedorf farce, carried on with the use of lightning rod Pippo Inzaghi to finish with Mihajlovic, who was just the latest blameless figure to pay for the incompetence of Adriano Galliani and blessing of President Berlusconi.
“Once again this is a move that at the very least can be described as debatable, punishing a Coach who is not to blame so that they don’t have to strike those really responsible – Berlusconi’s right-hand men and his own absence.
“A President who is incapable of recognising the real problem in his business and therefore doesn’t resolve it is no longer justifiable, even if he makes big investments. If anything, he becomes the main person responsible for this situation.
“For too many years now we have seen teams built with no plan, passed off as great sides to mask the inability to work on the market and the general fall of the club that sadly is increasing with each passing year.
“Hearing people talk of two Finals in the next five years, or spectacular football, seeing players who fully deserve the position they are in, is no longer acceptable.
“We will make our voices heard over the next few days. With this we salute Mihajlovic, who proved himself professional to the last, and wish Cristian Brocchi the best luck for this difficult task that awaits him.”
