Former Palermo Coach Guillermo Barros Schelotto has officially been appointed the manager of Boca Juniors.
The tactician was brought in after the dismissal of Rodolfo Arruabarrena and had already been a hero at this club during his playing career.
“I want to give my best to take Boca as high as possible. I want to thank Daniel Angelici and all the directors, but also Arruabarrena.
“It is important for me to come back to a club where I had won so much. My only thought when the President called was how to prepare the game with Racing.

“Nobody would’ve imagined a change on the bench a year after winning the title, but this is football.”
The news will be of little surprise to Palermo, as President Maurizio Zamparini accused Schelotto of dropping his job there once there was a chance of the Boca position.
Schelotto was appointed on January 10, but never actually sat on the bench, as he did not have the requisite paperwork to be a Serie A Coach.
He was put in charge of training sessions and had an assistant take the actual role of Coach during games, but walked away on February 11 just days before a big game, insisting he was not in a condition to do his job properly.
Zamparini threatened to sue, claiming Schelotto just wanted to be released so he could take over at Boca Juniors.
