Milan have initiated talks over a transfer for Zenit St Petersburg midfielder Axel Witsel, according to reports.
The Belgian international had been heavily linked with Juventus in the past, but that trail appears to have gone cold after the Bianconeri signed Sami Khedira.

Milan are known to be looking for a midfielder, having lost Geoffrey Kondogbia to city rivals Inter, and following reports of interest in Witsel, Gianluca Di Marzio’s website reports that negotiations are underway.
The Rossoneri are believed to have initiated contact with the player and his representatives, as well as his club.
A deal is not thought to be imminent, with an agreement yet to be found with both parties.
