It’s reported Silvio Berlusconi met Richard Lee’s Chinese conglomerate today, surprising Thai investor Bee Taechaubol.
Yesterday Berlusconi shook hands with Taechaubol outside the Park Hyatt Milano hotel and spoke to reporters, assuring they had a basic deal to sell a minority stake.
Later that day, ‘Mr Bee’ and his company Thai Prime implied they had negotiated an “exclusive” deal to negotiate with Milan and more details needed to be sorted out.
However, this morning La Gazzetta dello Sport claim Berlusconi had a meeting with Chinese investors, headed by Richard Lee, at his Arcore home.
It’s not clear what they were discussing, as it could be a rival bid to buy a minority stake in the club or attempts by Berlusconi to sell different chunks to each side.
According to the rumours circulating this afternoon, Taechaubol did not know there would be a meeting with the Chinese group and is worried.
Berlusconi might’ve hinted at the issue by mistake during his talk to the Press yesterday, when he mistakenly referred to ‘Mr Bee’ as ‘Mr Lee’ instead.
