Andrea Dossena’s agent blasted “bad press and wickedness” after police dropped charges over alleged shop-lifting.
The Leyton Orient player, formerly of Napoli, was stopped when leaving Harrods department store in London with a jar of honey and some cold meats.
“The charges against Andrea Dossena have now been dropped by the London Police, acknowledging that no crime was committed and recognising Andrea’s good faith over his unfortunate oversight,” wrote agent Federico Pastorello on Twitter.
“As always the blame must be attributed to bad press and inaccurate information alongside people’s wickedness.
“A lot of damage has been done to Andrea, his wife Debora and especially to his two-year-old son Romeo who were unjustly victimised.”
