The striker flew in from London last night and was greeted at Linate airport by dozens of fans and Press.
Wearing a Nerazzurri scarf and a hat marked with his ‘AHA!!!’ trademark, Poldi declared he was happy to be making the loan move from Arsenal.
“I spoke to Mancini and think he’s a great Coach. He wanted me and I’m happy to be here. I know Serie A, it’s a very competitive League.
“I want to help the team get into the Champions League. Do I have a message for the fans? I am happy, Forza Inter and we hope to have a great season.”
This morning the World Cup winner underwent his medical at the Humanitas clinic in Rozzano, which lasted just under two hours.
He’s expected to take part in his first training session at Appiano Gentile this afternoon.
Mancini is eager to have Podolski ready to make his debut on Tuesday night against Juventus.
Meanwhile, more details are emerging on the way this move was completed. It’s claimed Inter paid €600,000 to have the forward on loan for six months, which will rise to €900,000 if the club qualifies for the Europa League.
If they make it into the Champions League, that figure will go up to €1m (around £800,000).
There is also thought to be an option to make the move permanent in June for €5.5m and Podolski took a pay cut in order to push this through.
