Adriano Galliani confirmed talks continue for Robinho to Santos and “Adem Ljajic has characteristics that suit Milan.”
The Rossoneri lowered their asking price for Robinho from €10m to €8.5m, as he is holding up their entire transfer strategy.
“We are convinced that we have a strong squad and if someone leaves, then another player will arrive. If not, then we’re fine as we are,” Vice-President Galliani told TuttoMercatoWeb.
“We are talking to Santos about Robinho, but there is only a week to go, as the Brazilian transfer session closes on July 15.”
Fiorentina starlet Ljajic has emerged as a prime candidate to replace Robinho at Milan, as his contract with the Tuscans expires next summer.
There are reports his agent requested triple the current wages in order to sign an extension, so his departure is likely.
“I didn’t say we were interested in Ljajic. I simply said Ljajic has characteristics that suit Milan,” continued Galliani.
“He is a secondary striker, he is young, so if Robinho does leave then we’ll consider several different players, including Ljajic.
“He is now a Fiorentina player, though and I’m sure they don’t want to sell him.”
