Inter have officially rejected John Carew’s transfer after he failed a medical, as his fitness levels are “not compatible with the needs of the club.”
The Norwegian veteran was set to join on a short-term contract to fill in for the injured Diego Milito.
He would’ve been available as a free agent, but his last game was eight months ago for West Ham and he would not be match fit until May.
“F.C. Internazionale would like to thank Norwegian striker John Carew for the willingness and professionalism he has shown,” read a statement.
“His present physical condition however would require him to undergo a rather lengthy period of specific individual fitness work which is not compatible with the needs of the club.”
Carew was set to arrive on a 15-day trial, but never actually started training with the Inter players.
