Italian World Cup winner Gennaro Gattuso is the new player-Coach of Swiss side FC Sion.
The 35-year-old midfielder, who only joined the club in the summer once his Milan contract expired, has been placed in charge of the squad.
Sion, led by Victor Munoz, lost 4-0 at Thun this weekend – a result which leaves them fourth and nine points adrift of leaders Grasshoppers.
The club today announced that Munoz had not been sacked, but had taken a “step back” to take up a scouting role.
Sion, who only hired Munoz in January, have lost three of their last four games in the Swiss Super League.
