There are reports Dimitar Berbatov called Fiorentina on Friday to revive the abandoned transfer before signing for Fulham, but the club was unimpressed.
The striker caused chaos this week when in the space of a single day he agreed moves to Fiorentina, Juventus and then Fulham.
The ex-Manchester United hitman did eventually sign for Fulham, but the Viola were left waiting for him at the airport to complete a medical and he never arrived.
They responded by releasing a blistering statement that slammed the Bulgarian for his unprofessional behaviour.
Italian newspapers today claim Berbatov phoned Fiorentina directors in a bid to apologise for standing them up and asked if they had signed a new forward yet – as he was undergoing a medical at Fulham!
However, the response was cool to say the least and director of sport Daniele Pradè has not forgiven him for this sensational and embarrassing snub.
