This morning it was only a rumour, but Brescia starlet Omar El Kaddouri’s move to Napoli has now been confirmed, according to Gazzetta dello Sport.

The Belgian midfielder of Moroccan descent was on the verge of joining Parma earlier in the summer but turned up his nose at the Gialloblu, preferring to wait for a move to Juventus which never materialised.

More recently the suggestion has been that Milan and Genoa would work in conjunction to sign the 21-year-old on a co-ownership deal.

Napoli were only mentioned in relation to the player earlier today, but appear to have rushed the transfer through in double quick time.

Gazzetta claim El Kaddouri's move to the Partenopei was finalised for a fee of just €2m early this afternoon.

The signing bears a great deal of similarity to that of Marek Hamsik, who joined Napoli for €5.5m in 2007 after shining for Brescia in Serie B, just as El Kaddouri has.
