The Italian Football Federation are looking for a new Coach after Ciro Ferrara quit to take over at Sampdoria.
“I’m certainly interested and it would be a great experience,” he told ANSA on Saturday afternoon.
“It is something that is being discussed. I, however, have a contract with Palermo that expires on June 30, 2013.
“It is clear that before I can accept any other job offers, I have to resolve my situation with Palermo. I’d have to meet with them first.
“I’ve been contacted by the Federation and, if I can free myself, then there should not be any problems.
“It’s now the weekend, so we’ll have to wait and see.”
Mangia started the last campaign as the youth team boss at Palermo following his summer switch from Varese.
However, he was promoted to the Rosanero first team following the August 31 dismissal of Stefano Pioli. Mangia was axed himself in December.
He was interviewed by Siena last month, but the Tuscan club opted to sign Serse Cosmi instead. He also rejected a proposal from Serie B side Modena.
