Ciro Immobile, Thomas Strakosha and Lucas Leiva left the Lazio training ground today, so seem to be out of tomorrow’s match with Juventus due to inconclusive COVID-19 tests.

According to Lalaziosiamonoi.it and Sport Mediaset, Immobile, Strakosha and Leiva were spotted leaving the training ground just before today’s session.

They had all tested positive for COVID-19 in the UEFA exams ahead of Champions League games against Club Brugge and Zenit, but negative for last week’s Serie A fixture with Torino.

There was confusion, as confirmed by Lazio coach Simone Inzaghi in today’s press conference, as to which of two different test results were accurate.

It seems as if the medical staff is erring on the side of caution, as all three left the training ground this afternoon.

Lazio chief medic Ivo Pulcini had spoken to Radio Sei earlier today as well to discuss the situation.

“The health of our players comes before any other consideration. We had the tests performed by the Campus Biomedico in Rome, and they found some positive results. They informed the ASL (local health authority), who then called me and I immediately followed the protocol.

“There is some confusion, as I am a medic, not a lawyer. The medic finds himself at a crossroads with these situations, as he could give permission to play for someone who is positive for some tests and negative for others?”
