Ventura has not worked since being sacked for failing to take Italy to the 2018 World Cup, the Azzurri having lost a two-legged playoff to Sweden, but the 71-year-old has been linked with the potential vacancy at Chievo.
“Italy-Sweden? There was no atmosphere, neither were there the conditions for the win,” he told Canale 5.

“I put all the blame on myself. Escaping from training? It’s a hallucinatory falsehood and I wanted to sue.
“After Sweden, my wife was close to me, only my wife, especially my wife. Who have I heard from? I’ve talked to Buffon several times.
“I wouldn’t take the job again. Time is showing that it’s a difficult time for Italy. Our problem is a system, which makes everything difficult.
“Two defeats can’t erase 35 years of football or kill my desire for football. I still have adrenaline rushes for it, which you couldn’t imagine.
“I don’t want to repeat the experience of going on holiday in August. There was no respect for Ventura the man. I can accept all the criticism in the world, but not the personal attacks.
“Have I received offers? Yes, we’ll see what happens…”
