Napoli President Aurelio De Laurentiis confirms “we have to drop Santiago Arias” if Guillermo Ochoa signs as the third goalkeeper.
The Partenopei signed Orestis Karnezis and Alex Meret this summer, but the latter is out after breaking a bone in his arm.
That has seen them turn to Mexico’s number one, but his arrival would mean Arias can’t join from PSV.
“That’s true,” De Laurentiis confirmed in his daily ‘true or false?’ session with Radio Kiss Kiss Napoli.

“We have the problem of non-EU citizens. If we choose Ochoa as the goalkeeper then we have to drop Arias and go for [Youssouf] Sabaly, who has the advantage of being able to play on the right and the left.”
The patron was also quizzed about Bayern Munich’s links to Piotr Zielinski.
“My friend [Karl-Heinz] Rummennige hasn’t called me, but it’s true that I would give him an outright no.”
In recent days there have been some banners protesting against the President, with reports he’s been hurt and surprised by them.
“I’m not surprised, that’s false,” De Laurentiis said.
“The Curva A and the Curva B do their jobs, they’ve been doing it for years and they don’t align with our vision of a universal and entrepreneurial football.
“Freedom of expression has to be guaranteed, keep protesting, long live the Curva A and the Curva B!”
