Davide Moscardelli reveals he received ‘insults and threats’ from Inter supporters after Alessandro Bastoni singled him out from the Scudetto parade. ‘Relax, I always said you deserved the title.’

The trouble started when Inter beat Milan 2-1 in the Derby della Madonnina last Monday to mathematically secure their 20th Serie A title.

Speaking on TV Play, former striker Moscardelli commented with surprise that there were so few people out in the streets celebrating, joking “there were more people when I won the Serie C title at Pisa.”

This infuriated some and Inter defender Bastoni even responded directly from the balcony overlooking Piazza Duomo at the end of a seven-hour crawl through the city streets on an open-top bus.

“I think Moscardelli was wrong, you really are the most beautiful sight in the world.”

Moscardelli reveals threats

Singling him out brought more fans to look up what Moscardelli had said and they have since been blasting him on social media.

“I just made a joke about the fact there weren’t that many people in the streets, but I started receiving insults and threats,” noted Moscardelli on Instagram.

“Others replied that it was a Monday evening and they had to go to work the next day, that it was raining heavily. So basically, they said I was right.

“But I wasn’t looking for an explanation or reasons, I was just referring to a five-second video clip they showed on the programme without many people in the square.

“I don’t understand why there is this race to find something rotten in everything. I always said Inter deserved the Scudetto, I congratulated everyone.

“So relax and enjoy this deserved celebration.”
