Roma vice-Chair Ryan Friedkin will temporarily fill the vacant CEO position at the Stadio Olimpico while the board continue their search for a successor to the recently-departed Lina Souloukou, Thursday’s reports confirm.

Friedkin to become interim Roma CEO

The CEO position has been left vacant since Sunday, when former executive Lina Souloukou resigned with immediate effect.

It had been a chaotic week for the former Olympiacos director, who was also involved in the firing of club legend Daniele De Rossi last Wednesday and the subsequent appointment of Ivan Juric on the same afternoon. By the weekend, she had been granted police protection by the local authorities following safety concerns.

Reports earlier in the week suggested that Roma would look to appoint from within to replace Souloukou, but il Corriere dello Sport confirm that the previously-tipped Lorenzo Vitali is no longer the leading candidate.

As the search for a new CEO continues, Ryan Friedkin, son of club President Dan Friedkin, will assume the role as an interim.
