Inter goalkeeper Samir Handanovic faces Roma tonight and potentially his future club, though Liverpool and Manchester United are also interested.

The shot-stopper’s contract is due to expire in June 2016 and all signs from his agents suggest they are a long way off agreeing an extension.

That would mean Handanovic’s sale this summer and Roma are the long-term favourites to get the Slovenia international as an heir to the ageing Morgan De Sanctis.

He is seeking a substantial raise from his current €2m per season wages, but Inter are only prepared to offer €2.5m plus performance-related bonuses for a deal to 2019.

Above all, Handanovic wants to play in the Champions League and it looks as if the Nerazzurri won’t even qualify for Europe.

If Roma do engage with Inter for Handanovic, La Gazzetta dello Sport suggests they could offer Mattia Destro as part of the deal.

He joined Milan on loan in January, but the club does not seem intent on taking up its €16m option to buy at the end of the season.

Meanwhile, Premier League sides are also interested in Handanovic with Arsenal, Tottenham, Liverpool and above all Manchester United eyeing the situation.
