Vincenzo Montella said Fiorentina were “mentally tired” during a “strange” 1-1 draw against Genoa.
The Viola fought back from a goal down to snatch the point at Marassi with Gonzalo Rodriguez.
“It was a very strange game,” Montella told Sky Sport Italia. “Genoa play in a way that forces their opponents to stretch out, but I still saw a pretty balanced encounter.

“My team was not at its best today and seemed mentally tired. In midfield Genoa’s aggressive attitude made it difficult for us, so we compliment them for that.
“Even if in a not very organised fashion, we proved that we could’ve won this game. Gonzalo Rodriguez does better in a three-man defence, but again today was decisive with his ability in the air.”
