They also faced off in Doha on December 22, the Partenopei winning the Italian Super Cup on penalties after a 2-2 draw in extra time.

“This is a great opportunity to reply to what happened in the Super Cup. If we win tonight, it will be an important step forward in the League, especially after Roma drew,” Llorente told Sky Sport Italia.

“We know of the difficulties involved in playing at the San Paolo, but we are a strong side and have to prove it.”

Roma fought back from 2-0 down to hold Lazio 2-2 in the Derby della Capitale today and as things stand are on a par with Juve at the top of the table.

“Ultimately we focus only on our own performances. If we play to our best in every game, then I believe we are the best side.”

Juventus have drawn five of their last six competitive matches, but Llorente looks on the bright side.

“We are drawing a few too many games, but it’s also good not to lose. At the end of the day those can be important points.”
