Fiorentina technical director Eduardo Macia reportedly has no intention of joining Barcelona, out of focus on his Viola work.

The Spaniard, who has had previous technical roles with Valencia, Liverpool and Olympiacos following a brief playing career at Mestalla, has been linked with a move to the Catalan giants of late.

Amid continued speculation that he and sporting director Daniele Prade are coming to the end of their time at Fiorentina, Catalan publication Mundo Deportivo this week suggested that Barca had agreed a contract with him.

The daily paper reported that Macia was open to the return to Spain, flattered at the prospect of working with the Camp Nou outfit and set to begin with the Blaugrana from as early as Christmas.

However, La Nazione dispute this and report today that Macia has no intention of listening to Barcelona’s advances and that in fact his focus was on continuing to work in his current capacity with Fiorentina, planning out their upcoming transfer markets.
