Djamel Mesbah has been presented today at Sampdoria and expects the club to be aiming high this season.
The Blucerchiati picked up the well-travelled Algeria international in the closing stages of the summer transfer window and today have been able to present him to the media.
“I am finally here,” Mesbah began in addressing those at his conference.
“Last year and two years ago there was interest from Samp, but not everything was in place for the transfer.

“I am finally here,” Mesbah began in addressing those at his conference.

“Now is the right time to come here, I am very pleased to have signed up for three years. Now I am focused on doing well, and I hope that the three years here will be great.
“Already from the outside you can see that this is a solid group, a spirited team and for me it is perfect
“I will bring my experience, desire, determination and give everything. I will give my all on the pitch, I guarantee 100 per cent.
“Sinisa Mihajlovic is a Coach of character. I arrived yesterday, I hope and believe that his attitude is right for me, he provides you with a charge before entering the field.
“Expectations? It is very important to play, everyone wants to do so. I prefer to do my talking on the field. I have just arrived, I will make myself available to the team and will do everything possible to play as many games as I can.
“When you arrive at a team like Sampdoria, which has been strengthened, you have to aim high. We are at the start of the season, we can look to as many points as possible and then in March and April we will see.
“Last year they were very good from December, now some good players have arrived, whilst they already have excellent players too.
“Samp will aim high and the hope is to be in the top half of the table.”
It was put to Mesbah that he hasn’t lived up to expectations in his career.
“I don’t know, at Lecce things went well, and then I went to Milan. At Parma I thought I was going to be in the project, but no.
“Now I have come here, I turn 30 in October and I think that I have a certain maturity and experience. I hope to do well, it is important.”
