Norway were in action today at Wembley Stadium and held out against England for 68 minutes until Omar Elabdellaoui brought down Raheem Sterling.

Wayne Rooney stepped up and converted the resulting penalty.

Norway had chances to score, most notably with Josh King’s header denied by a flying Joe Hart fingertip save, so Italy will be wary of his aerial threat.

There was bad news for Mats Moller Daehli, who appeared to sprain his knee very badly and is a major doubt for next week’s game.

Martin Linnes also went off with an injury.

Norway: Nyland, Nordtveit, Forren, Elabdellaoui, Linnes (Flo 36), Nordtveit, Skjelbred (M Elyounoussi 69), Jenssen (Pedersen 87), Johansen, Daehli (Konradsen 57), King (Nielsen 76), T Elyounoussi (Kamara 78)
