Lazio Ultras have released a statement confirming that they will be in attendance for the club’s first home League match of the season.

The Curva Nord faithful had refused to attend any game at the Stadio Olimpico since last March in protest against their club’s policies and behaviour towards supporters.

However, in a statement given to Radio Sei, issued on behalf of the main ultra groups, they have confirmed that for the opening home match of 2014-15, they will be back.

“We will be back in the stands for the game against Cesena and we invite every other supporter to do likewise,” the group have commented today.

They describe Lazio’s heartbeat as ‘the most important signing’ but add: “We won’t subscribe to any season ticket, which would be a testament of faith towards one’s own team. We don’t have a normal club, hence we have decided to behave accordingly.

“To the club itself we just ask to do the best possible thing in the name of Lazio’s own good: ignore us.”

The protest has been there since 2005 and it has escalated to a virtually empty Stadio Olimpico during Lazio’s last five games of last season. During the summer, Lazio fans subscribed only 6,500 season tickets, less than Sassuolo” data-scaytid=”20″>Sassuolo.
