Massimo Cellino has struck already at Leeds United, firing manager David Hockaday after just six games.

The ex-Cagliari President was well known for his trigger-happy way with tacticians and is taking the same approach in the Championship.

This evening Cellino sacked Hockaday after a Capital One Cup defeat to Bradford City – and apologised for not firing him earlier.

“I’d like to thank David for his efforts over the last two and a half months but the results since the start of the season have meant we needed to act and make this decision,” said Cellino.

“After the defeat at Bradford I realised that my decision to keep David at the club following the defeat at Watford was wrong and I had to change my mind on the Coach’s position.

“As a club we will now begin our search for a new head Coach.”

Cellino famously went through 36 Coaches in 20 years at Cagliari.
