Mattia Perin’s agent has confirmed that he did speak with Bayern Munich about a potential move.

The 22-year-old was one of Genoa’s stand-out players last term, and as such, was the subject of several rumours over the summer.

The Bundesliga champions were one of the sides linked, and the shot-stopper’s representative confirmed that there were brief talks.

The Bundesliga champions were one of the sides linked, and the shot-stopper’s representative confirmed that there were brief talks.

“Bayern Munich is an old thing now,” Matteo Roggi told Calcio News.

“We were in contact about a month ago. They we relooking for a goalkeeper, but Mattia is after continuity.

“As fascinating as it would have been to go to Bayern, there was no negotiation really in place.

“I don’t think playing second fiddle to Manuel Neuer would be right for his career at such a young age.”

The agent then commented on rumours of interest from Milan.

“There is nothing there. I don’t know anything about that. If there’s something between the two clubs, because I know Galliani and Preziosi are good friends, then that’s one thing.

“But I haven’t heard anything about that.”
