Devis Mangia can’t help but feel regret as Italy only have a 1-0 lead over Sweden in the European Under-21 Championship play-offs.
“We won and are happy with that, so go to play the second leg in Sweden on Tuesday with the optimism of a side who know they have a good chance of going through,” said Mangia.
“However, it is equally clear that we wasted far too many scoring opportunities. We were far too imprecise in front of goal.
“I didn’t see enough determination from my men in the final third. Sweden showed they are a compact and difficult side to break down, as they play the long ball game.”
