Abel Hernandez will go under the knife tomorrow to repair the cruciate ligament in his knee, which will keep the Palermo striker out for four to six months.
The hitman snapped the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee while on international duty with Uruguay this week.
“At this moment the player is staying with us ahead of the operation which is due tomorrow afternoon,” Professor Pier Paolo Mariani told Calciomercato.it.
“Usually this type of injury requires around six months to recover, but obviously a lot depends on the player. Our objective is to cut down this lay-off time.”
Hernandez hopes to return within four months.
