Catania have officially extended Alejandro ‘Papu’ Gomez’s contract until 2016, ending transfer speculation.

The Argentine striker had been heavily linked with Fiorentina, Juventus, Roma and Inter during the summer.
The Elefantini announced this evening that Gomez has signed a new contract holding him in Sicily until June 30, 2016.
Gomez is a 24-year-old forward who has been at Catania since July 2010.
