Catania challenge Roma doubters

Catania Coach Rolando Maran makes his Serie A debut this evening against Zdenek Zeman’s Roma and is eager to “prove the doubters wrong.”

“People think we’re candidates for relegation? Well, that’ll just be further motivation for us to prove the doubters wrong,” said the tactician who replaced Vincenzo Montella.

“It is also very motivating to face a side like Roma. We know the strength of our opponents, but we too will have our cards to play. We must step on to the field with a precise identity and idea of football.

“The important thing will be to cover the spaces and get Francesco Totti under control.”

Nicolas Spolli is in the squad despite carrying a knock, but Davide Lanzafame, Mariano Izco and new buy Alexis Rolin are

out.
