Gianluigi Donnarumma has broken his silence after “an ugly night that I didn’t expect” when insulted by Milan fans.

The 18-year-old was in tears after the protest via banners and chants in last night’s Coppa Italia win over Hellas Verona at San Siro.

“It was an ugly night that I didn’t expect!” wrote Donnarumma on Instagram.

“I never said, nor wrote, that I was on the end of moral violence when I signed the contract. Despite all of this, I look ahead with my mind on the next game… Forza Milan!”

There had been reports Donnarumma’s agent Mino Raiola sent Milan’s lawyers a letter attempting to void the contract signed over the summer, suggesting he was under psychological pressure and “moral violence” by the club.

This was reflected in the banner held up by Milan ultras ahead of the game: ‘Moral violence, €6m per year and the signing of a parasite brother? Now go, our patience is finished!’
