Report Dzeko turned down Juventus move

Sportitalia claim Edin Dzeko turned down a proposed move to Juventus over the weekend, as he is determined to have his say at Inter.

The Bosnia and Herzegovina international has fallen down the pecking order at San Siro following the return of Romelu Lukaku on loan from Chelsea.

Even if Alexis Sanchez does leave by terminating his contract by mutual consent, then Paulo Dybala is likely to come in as a free agent.

According to Sportitalia transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà, Juventus made a formal offer to sign Dzeko over the last 48 hours, but the striker rejected it.

At the same time, Dzeko also arrived early for pre-season training, showing how much he is determined to make his mark with the Nerazzurri.

The 36-year-old arrived last summer from Roma practically for free, a deal worth €1.5m plus performance-related bonuses.

He scored 17 goals and provided 10 assists in 48 competitive matches last season and is under contract until June 2023.

It is hardly the first time Dzeko has been linked with Juventus, as his hold-up play and work-rate make him a favourite target for coach Max Allegri.
