Italy coach Roberto Mancini is attending a Serie B match today, scouting Pisa striker Lorenzo Lucca.
The Azzurri have a shortage of real centre-forward options, with Ciro Immobile, Andrea Belotti, Moise Kean and Giacomo Raspadori all relatively inconsistent when representing their country.
Considering his impressive form in Serie B and with the Italy Under-21 side, many have called for Lucca to be given a chance.
Mancini seems to agree, because the CT is in the stands today for Pisa’s Serie B match against Pordenone, accompanied by assistant manager Alberico Evani.
Lucca hit the headlines after scoring six goals in his first eight Serie B games of the season.
He turned 21 in September and is more of a Luca Toni-style centre-forward, standing at 2.01m (6ft 6in), and coming from the youth academies at Vicenza and Torino.
Impressing in Serie C last season with Palermo, Lucca has truly come to life at Pisa after his €2.1m transfer.
Milan, Juventus, Torino and Roma are known to be interested in a potential January or summer swoop.
