Fenerbahce ready to outbid Galatasaray for Zaniolo

There is another twist in the Nicolò Zaniolo story, as Sportitalia claim Fenerbahce are ready to out-bid Galatasaray for the Roma star, and accept a €30m release clause for Italian clubs.

The player has seemingly accepted a move to Turkey, as their transfer window is still open until Wednesday, agreeing personal terms worth circa €3m per season.

The main issue he wants is for a low release clause allowing him to leave in the summer for a return to Serie A, most likely to Milan or Juventus.

According to Sportitalia, that is €27-30m and Galatasaray are hoping to make it €35m, but Fenerbahce would be willing to accept those terms.

A conference call was held with Roma and Galatasaray this evening with no conclusion yet, as the offer of circa €22m including bonuses is considered too low.

Sportitalia and Gazzetta dello Sport transfer expert Alfredo Pedullà maintains there is another twist to come, as Fenerbahce are ready to increase their original proposal and out-bid Galatasaray.

Roma had wanted someone to match the bid that Zaniolo rejected from Bournemouth, namely €30m including bonuses, with a guarantee the transfer would be completed.

Milan and Tottenham Hotspur were only prepared to take the Italy international on loan with an option to buy.
