Borussia Dortmund, Roma, Milan swap deal: What’s next for McKennie after Leeds?

Juventus are ready to sell USMNT international Weston McKennie, but which club will he join after a six-month loan at Leeds United?

The ex-Schalke man has many options on the table, including a return to Germany. According to ESPN, Borussia Dortmund are in talks with the player’s entourage.

There had been other reports regarding his future. At the end of June, Il Corriere dello Sport claimed Roma were interested in the 24-year-old who had also emerged as an option for Juventus to lower Galatasaray’s asking price for Nicolò Zaniolo, a long-time target of the Old Lady.

More recently, Tuttosport newspaper linked McKennie with a move to Milan in a swap deal for the Rossoneri defender Pierre Kalulu. According to the report, Milan are ‘considering’ the Old Lady’s offer.

McKennie spent the last six months on loan at Leeds United but the English side didn’t use their €34.5m option to buy following relegation from the Premier League.

The USMNT international has scored 13 goals in 96 appearances with the Old Lady and his contract at the Allianz Stadium expires in June 2025.
