Arthur may prove key in Juventus’ work to sign Zaniolo

Juventus are seriously interested in picking up Nicolo Zaniolo this summer and midfielder Arthur could prove key in the talks with Roma.

The 22-year-old Italian forward’s current contract expires with the Giallorossi in 2024 and so far no renewal has been agreed, with a difference in opinion existing over his possible new salary. Both Juventus and Milan are keen to pick him up this summer and both would need to include a player in the deal to lower €60m fee requested by Roma.

As detailed by Tuttosport, Jose Mourinho is a big fan of Arthur and Roma have started considering picking up the player to join new signing Nemanja Matic in the midfield. Juventus are now considering sending in an offer of the Brazilian midfielder plus cash for Zaniolo, although there is already an obstacle.

The 25-year-old’s salary is too high for the Giallorossi and talks are currently ongoing to see if a compromise can be found.
