World Cup final: Four Serie A players start in Argentina-France

Four Serie A players will start in the upcoming World Cup final between Argentina and France.

There’s no shortage of storylines heading into the decisive game of the tournament in Qatar, with a key one being the battle between Argentina legend Lionel Messi and France star Kylian Mbappe, two players desperate to drive their nations to glory.

65 players from Serie A headed off to Qatar for the World Cup last month and now only five remain – two with Argentina and three with France. Inter have managed to maintain their record of having one player appear in every final since 1982 thanks to Lautaro Martinez’s participation.

Milan duo Theo Hernandez and Oliver Giroud will start for France, alongside Juventus midfielder Adrien Rabiot. On the other side, Angel Di Maria will lineup for Argentina, giving him the chance to take revenge after missing out on the 2014 World Cup final.
