Why Mourinho’s suspensions are not so bad for Roma

Roma have won all their games without José Mourinho on the bench because of suspensions, including the last one against Bologna.

The Giallorossi started the year with a 1-0 win against the Rossoblu at the Stadio Olimpico on Wednesday.

Mourinho was suspended and banned for two games, having seen red in the last match of 2022 against Torino, on November 13. This means he won’t be on the bench when Roma visit Milan at San Siro on Sunday night.

The Rossoneri may not be happy to know Mourinho won’t be in the dug-out given that Roma have won all their Serie A games without the Special One guiding them from the touchline.

It happened twice last season, when Roma beat Spezia and Atalanta, and again this term when Roma secured a 2-1 victory against Inter at the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza.

Mourinho hired a new assistant coach, former Italian striker Salvatore Foti precisely a year ago after Joao Sacramento had parted ways with the club.
