‘We have a dream, the second star’ – Inter celebrate at Christmas party

The Inter squad and staff attended a large Christmas party in Milan on Wednesday, celebrating their year and underlining their ambitions for 2024.

The Nerazzurri have qualified for the Round of 16 of the Champions League, but their second-place finish in Group D proved a little disappointing for fans and pundits. Simone Inzaghi’s side will now face a top seed in their first knockout clash.

In Serie A, Inter have been almost flawless this term, winning 12 of their 15 outings and drawing twice, suffering defeat just once. The team sit two points ahead of rivals Juventus and are hungry for their first Scudetto in three years.

Page 19 of today’s Gazzetta dello Sport details how the Inter squad and staff were present at a Christmas party at the Superstudio on Via Tortona in Milan on Wednesday evening, an event hosted by presenter Alessandro Cattelan. Achille Lauro, Max Pezzali and Tananai were all present as well.

Inzaghi was handed the microphone at the party and spoke warmly, stating: “I thank everyone, from the president to the directors, from the staff to my players. We’ve had crazy months, but the next few will be fundamental. Everything gives me hope for the future.”

Inter CEO Beppe Marotta underlined his ambitions ahead of the new year, saying: “Let’s keep the bar high, let’s not rest on the past months. We have high expectations, it will depend on how we work.”

Nerazzurri president Steven Zhang was not present at the party but sent in a video message, commenting: “The journey up to Istanbul and the journey carried out this season make me proud. Thanks to everyone. To the management, which guarantees continuity. Inter are and will remain stable.

“Thanks to Inzaghi for his work, the path is the right one. Inter are where they need to be. We have a dream, the second star, and we are working to make it come true.”
