Uncertainty surrounding Zielinski future at Napoli as rivals begin to lurk – report

Napoli and midfielder Piotr Zielinski are in discussions over a new contract, but Saturday’s reports have indicated that the two parties are not yet aligned on personal terms and now, rival teams in Serie A are beginning to queue up.

Zielinski, an instrumental figure in Napoli’s victorious Serie A season in 2022-23, is now into the final year of his contract at the Stadio Maradona.

The Poland international has recently revealed that he has been in discussions with the club over a new deal, explaining: “I certainly don’t rule out that my contract could be extended.”

There had been plenty of interest in Zielinski over the summer, particularly from Saudi Arabia, where, it was reported, that he could earn an annual sum of around €14m.

Zielinski instead decided to stay on with Napoli, where he earns a reported €4m per season.

However, after the initial conversations, Tuttomercatoweb report that there is some distance between Zielinski’s requests and the salary that Napoli are currently willing to offer.

Meanwhile, the majority of clubs at the top of Serie A would be delighted to take Zielinski on board, particularly if he becomes available as a free agent in the summer.

Among the interested parties are Inter, as is Max Allegri’s Juventus according to other reports from Calciomercato.com. TMW notes that Roma and Lazio would also be interested, on top of a number of clubs in the Premier League.
