Totti: ‘Beat Feyenoord, then Juve…’

Captain Francesco Totti says that if Roma win against Feyenoord tomorrow, they'll defeat Juventus on Monday too.

The Lupi face two decisive matches as tomorrow's Europa League game against the Dutch team will be followed by a clash against Scudetto rivals Juventus.

Totti is especially keen on a victory tomorrow as he believes another success would be sequential.

“I'd rather win tomorrow than on Monday against Juventus,” he said in today's Press conference, before being asked again if he was sure.

Totti is especially keen on a victory tomorrow as he believes another success would be sequential.

“I'd rather win tomorrow than on Monday against Juventus,” he said in today's Press conference, before being asked again if he was sure.

“Losing is not a problem in and of itself. But if I win tomorrow, then I'll win on Monday too. But I don’t like talking about ‘if’.

“Of course this match could turn our season around. Winning would take us into the Last 16. We'd pick up confidence and we'd face Juve with a different heart.

“Tomorrow's game could have after-effects on the whole year.”

The 38-year-old was also asked about his reaction when being subbed off during the 1-1 draw against Hellas Verona last Sunday, as he seemed incredulous.

“I was feeling fine, but these decisions come down to the Coach.

“There was a corner kick and I wanted to score with a header like [Verona striker Luca] Toni.

“In any case these episodes end on the pitch. There's no controversy.”

Totti has already played in Rotterdam, on occasion of the Euro 2000 Final lost to France.

“There have been highs and lows since then.

“I've seen a lot of water passing under the bridge.

“When 15 years have gone by it means you're at the twilight of your career.

“You always try remembering the positive things. I'm hoping to spend the next two years in the best possible way.”

Finally, Il Capitano was asked for his opinion on the late Vujadin Boskov, who was a former Roma and Feyenoord Coach.

“He was a great person and a great Coach.

“I owe him my Serie A debut. He contributed to the beautiful career I've been blessed with, and I'll always thank him for it.”
