Wojciech Szczesny believes that two of the strongest strikers in the league will face off against each other when Juventus travel to San Siro to face Inter in a crucial game for the Serie A title on Sunday evening.

The Bianconeri shot stopper gave a feature interview to TNT Sports published on Friday, during which he gave his predictions for Sunday’s headliner.

Szczesny revealed that he believes his Juve teammate Dusan Vlahovic to be among the best centre-forwards in the division, alongside Inter captain Lautaro Martinez and Napoli’s leading goalscorer Victor Osimhen.

“They (Vlahovic and Martinez) are certainly two very strong strikers, I would also add Victor Osimhen, who perhaps this year doesn’t have the numbers of last year,” Szczesny said to TNT.

“Dusan is doing very well physically, you can see that since the start of the season he has felt much better than last year, and the numbers speak for themselves. He’s scoring more goals, but also on a game level, he’s fighting more on high balls, you can see the results.”

Despite the fact that Inter have a one point advantage over Juve and a game in hand due to their involvement in the Supercoppa Italiana in January, Szczesny believes that the Old Lady are just as competitive as Simone Inzaghi’s side.

“Inter are strong, they are very strong, but I don’t feel like they have anything more than us,” the former Arsenal and Roma ‘keeper admitted.

“They are a very mature team because by scoring so many goals, they still manage not to concede too much. They’ve been doing very, very well all year, but we’re going there with the hope of bringing home a very important result.”

Szczesny also shared his fondest memory from his numerous battles against Inter.

The best memory of all is the 3-2 win at San Siro in 2017-18.

“It was a match full of a thousand emotions, we won in the 90th minute with a goal from (Gonzalo) Higuain and it was the decisive match for the Scudetto that year. It was one of the best emotions of my career because it was my first championship.”
