Possibly Man of the Match, he certainly stopped several strong efforts by Edinson Cavani even before he saved his penalty. Was also magnificent until the very last when his superb reaction saw him stop a Cavani pile-driver. Responsive.
Nicolas Frey [Chievo]
Always forceful down the flank, menaced up front on several occasions and it was his assist for Cyril Thereau’s goal. For the main part he was on defensive duty and with rare exception was the compete defender. Unyielding.

Never looked out of place and even got forward on several times and would have scored from a long-distance drive if not for Mariano Andujar’s save. Had Lucas Castro under his thumb. Authoritative.

A commanding performance in the centre of defence and never allowed Mauro Icardi or indeed anybody an inch. Always alert to the slightest nuance as the match progressed and totally organised. Imposing.

Was always aware of his role and scored an early goal with a left-footed thunderbolt that absolutely flew past Morgan De Sanctis. Threatened on several occasions and nullified most of Napoli’s attacking threat on his side of the pitch. Offensive.
Paul Pogba [Juventus]
The youngster showed all the qualities he has come to be celebrated for, determination, pace and power. If not for Andujar would have scored but he did make the assist for the winner with a perfect cross. Muscular.
Andrea Cossu [Cagliari]
The playmaker is on top form and everything is all right with the Isolani’s world. Perfectly positioned all match and controlled the whole game making two assists and having a massive hand in the opening goal. Inspirational.

Man of the Match once again with his selective passes and decisive movement. Put in an awe-inspiring pass for Stefan Jovetic’s goal and was always ready to move forward and pressurise where it hurt the most. Sublime.

Always probing and ran the Lazio” data-scaytid=”39″>Lazio right flank ragged at times. Has become a crucial player in their run up the table and showed his intentions from the start with a shot that Federico Marchetti did well to block. Transcendental.

Like a force of nature he stormed his way through the Torino defence. Nothing could stop him as he scored an awesome hat-trick after some sensational efforts beforehand. His best was his scissor-kick volley from eight yards. Powerful.
Victor Ibarbo [Cagliari]
The Colombian maestro was absolutely overwhelming and scored his first Serie A hat-trick. Always first to the ball, he passed opposition players with unparalleled ease. Tap-ins, thunderbolt-kicks and headers were all in his repertoire. Fabulous.
