Ronaldo: Ibrahimović a mid-season ‘present’ for Milan

Ronaldo said Zlatan Ibrahimović could act as a mid-season present for Milan this campaign.

The Sweden forward will miss a large chunk of the 2022-23 season after undergoing knee surgery.

And Ronaldo said his return midway through what the ex-Brazil international predicts will be a tight Scudetto battle with Inter and Juventus could galvanise the Rossoneri – but warned that coming back from any serious knee injury is never easy.

O Fenomeno told La Gazzetta dello Sport: “Ibra is a present Milan can give themselves at some point in the season.

“But I believe the first to be curious as to how he will return will be the player himself. When I battled my knee [injuries] every now and then I would ask: ‘What will coming back be like’?”

Ronaldo played for Milan from 2007 to 2008 and suffered a serious knee injury while at the Rossoneri.

Had previously badly hurt his knee while at Inter and that injury forced him to miss almost two full seasons of football.

Ronaldo predicted Inter will be the favourites for the title following the return of Romelu Lukaku from Chelsea but that Juventus and Milan will also be in the mix.
