Romagnoli, Maximiano and Gila set for Lazio medicals

It’s going to be a busy Tuesday for Lazio, as Alessio Romagnoli, Luis Maximiano and Mario Gila are all expected to undergo their medicals.

The Biancocelesti are stepping up the transfer summer with director Igli Tare and coach Maurizio Sarri after a fifth-place Serie A finish.

There is due to be quite a traffic jam at the medical centre in Rome tomorrow, because three players are ready to complete their transfers.

Romagnoli has left Milan as a free agent and landed in Fiumicino Airport this evening, posing with a Lazio jersey, the club he has always supported since childhood.

Sportitalia also report that Real Madrid’s 21-year-old centre-back Mario Gila will fly in tomorrow morning for his medical, which was delayed by a positive COVID-19 test.

He is due to arrive on loan with an option to buy.

The same source also expects Granada goalkeeper Luis Maximiano to arrive at the airport late tonight, so he too can have his medical on Tuesday morning.

The 23-year-old Portuguese shot-stopper had also been linked with Napoli, but is coming to Lazio for €10m with a contract to June 2027.
