It’s going to be a busy Tuesday for Lazio, as Alessio Romagnoli, Luis Maximiano and Mario Gila are all expected to undergo their medicals.

The Biancocelesti are stepping up the transfer summer with director Igli Tare and coach Maurizio Sarri after a fifth-place Serie A finish.

There is due to be quite a traffic jam at the medical centre in Rome tomorrow, because three players are ready to complete their transfers.

Romagnoli has left Milan as a free agent and landed in Fiumicino Airport this evening, posing with a Lazio jersey, the club he has always supported since childhood.

Sportitalia also report that Real Madrid’s 21-year-old centre-back Mario Gila will fly in tomorrow morning for his medical, which was delayed by a positive COVID-19 test.

He is due to arrive on loan with an option to buy.

The same source also expects Granada goalkeeper Luis Maximiano to arrive at the airport late tonight, so he too can have his medical on Tuesday morning.

The 23-year-old Portuguese shot-stopper had also been linked with Napoli, but is coming to Lazio for €10m with a contract to June 2027.

  1. @Neo, if Lazio gets 5th place with acerbi and Patric as defensive duo, imagine where will finish next year with Romangoli and Casale! Also, Leiva 35 years old left, Marcos Antonio 22 years old in, another huge upgrade. Finally, Strakosha out Mximiano in. I would be nervous for your team if i were you. Fasten your seatbelt and enjoy Lazio!

  2. Fantastic developments after so much talk and little action. It would be nice to sign an experienced Italian keeper to back up Maximiano (Sirigu perhaps). No let’s sell all the fringe players – we must have about 15 players to move on. Let’s go Lazio!

  3. The rebuild is looking good, and the defence is much better hopefully we can set our sights on champions league and a great season at the europa league and the Serie A.
    Sarri is doing excellent.
Watch out the biancolcelesti is back.
