Roma ‘have agreement’ with Areola

Roma have an agreement in place to sign Paris Saint-Germain goalkeeper Alphonse Areola if Alisson leaves, according to Premium Sport.

The French shot-stopper is all but certain to lose his spot as number one at his current club, with Gigi Buffon having arrived from Juventus.

And the Italian sports news outlet claims that the 25-year-old, who only has one year remaining on his PSG contract, would be keen on a move to the Italian capital.

However, the transfer will only go ahead if the Giallorossi’s current number one is sold.

Alisson has been heavily linked with the likes of Real Madrid, Liverpool and Chelsea over the summer, although no club has yet matched Roma’s reported €70m asking price for the Brazilian.

It is reported that the Stadio Olimpico side are ready to offer Alisson a new five-year contract, doubling his wages, in a bid to convince him to stay.
