Reports Inter lose Perisic to Conte’s Tottenham

Inter feel they have done all they can offering Ivan Perisic a new contract, but it’s reported he is leaning towards an Antonio Conte reunion at Tottenham Hotspur.

The Croatia international was one of the best performing players at Inter this season, helping them to win the Coppa Italia and Supercoppa Italiana.

His contract with the Nerazzurri is due to expire on June 30 and he vented his frustration at the delays in getting round to offering him a new deal, especially after bringing in Robin Gosens from Atalanta.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sportitalia and more this evening, Inter feel they have now done all they can with an increased proposal worth €5m per season plus bonuses.

They are now waiting for a response, but The Independent newspaper claims tonight that Tottenham are on the verge of securing Perisic’s signature as a free agent.

Chelsea and Juventus were also interested, but Perisic already worked with Conte for two years at Inter, winning the Serie A title last term.

It’s claimed Conte specifically requested the 33-year-old as one of the summer reinforcements during today’s meeting with director Fabio Paratici in Italy.

Perisic scored 10 goals and provided nine assists in 49 competitive matches for Inter this season.
